Vagrant. Mega-rarity. The Yellow-nosed Albatross is a rare vagrant to the Western North Atlantic with about 40 records since 1960. We have seen it twice on our trips – February 5, 2000 and February 22, 2014. Each of these sightings was just a few miles off the beach with gulls and gannets. There have also been two spring records at Cape Hatteras (seen from shore), documented with photos April 11, 2004 and April 11, 2006.
